EFFICIENT SEASONAL WHEEL SWAP SERVICES

Living in Calgary means your vehicle needs to be ready for extreme temperature shifts. Our seasonal wheel swap service ensures you are driving on the right rubber for the road conditions, whether that means switching to winter tires when the thermometer dips below 7°C or back to summers for the spring thaw. We handle your pre-mounted wheel sets with care, ensuring precise torque specs to avoid the vibration often felt after a driveway DIY job. This service is specifically for tires already mounted on their own rims, which saves you time and protects your tires from the stress of repeated mounting.

Only have one set of tires? Get a rotation to even out wear and increase your tires’ lifespan.

SIGNS IT'S TIME FOR A WHEEL SWAP

  • Vibration after a DIY swap—if your car is shaking after swapping your wheels at home, bring it down to the shop so that we can tighten your lug nuts evenly.
  • Low tread depth—if your tires are looking bald, or too smooth.
  • Lease return—you need the original wheels swapped back on before returning a lease.
  • Switching between winter and summer

THE 7 DEGREE RULE

Seasonal tires are important for your safety. Here’s how to know when it’s time to make the swap in Calgary.

The Winter Freeze

When the temperature is consistently below 7ºC, the rubber on your all seasons will firm up like a hockey puck, causing them to lose grip. Remember, if you’re waiting until there’s snow and ice on the ground to get your winters on, you’re more likely to end up on a waiting list.

The Spring Thaw

Winter tires wear out incredibly fast in temperatures consistently above 7ºC. A good rule of thumb is to get them swapped before May to keep them in tip-top shape for the next cold Canadian winter.

SWAP VS. CHANGEOVER, & WHY IT MATTERS

Are your tires on rims, or are they loose?

If your winter/summer tires are already on rims, then the wheel swap is exactly what you need. On the other hand, if your tires are loose, meaning they’re not on rims, the service you need is called a tire changeover. This is where we strip the old tires off of the rims, mount the new ones, and balance them every season. But remember, frequent changeover could end up damaging your tires due to stretching. See Mount and Balance Tires page.
