RESTORING POWER, EFFICIENCY, & SMOOTH IDLING

For an engine to run, it needs three things: Air, Fuel, and Spark. If any one of these is off balance, your car will run rough, lose power, or fail to start entirely. Fuel and Ignition diagnostics focus on the components that create combustion: spark plugs, coils, fuel injectors, and fuel pumps. If your car feels "jerky" under acceleration or takes a long time to crank over in the morning, we use live data analysis to see exactly which cylinder is misfiring or if your fuel pressure is dropping under load.

SIGNS IT’S TIME FOR FUEL & IGNITION DIAGNOSTICS

  • The engine idles roughly or shakes at red lights
  • The car "stumbles" or hesitates when you step on the gas
  • Poor fuel economy (MPG has dropped significantly)
  • Hard starting (engine cranks for a long time before firing)
  • The smell of raw gas from the exhaust
  • Engine "knocking" or pinging sounds

THE MISFIRE FEELING

A misfire feels like the engine momentarily "trips" over itself.

Ignition Coils & Plugs

If the misfire is sharp and happens under heavy acceleration (like merging onto Deerfoot), it is usually a weak Spark Plug or Ignition Coil failing under load.

Fuel Delivery

If the car feels sluggish or loses power gradually at high speeds, it is often a Fuel Pump or Clogged Injector struggling to supply enough volume of gas.

BAD GAS IS RARE

Drivers often blame "bad gas" for a rough idle.

While it happens, it is rare in major cities. 90% of the time, that rough running is a worn ignition component or a vacuum leak, not the fuel station you visited. Don't wait for the next tank to fix it—get it diagnosed.
