On turbocharged vehicles, the downpipe (the pipe directly connected to the turbo) is often the single most restrictive part of the exhaust system. It is usually choked by a dense catalytic converter. Replacing this with a high-flow performance downpipe is a premier "bolt-on" tuning option that yields instant results in both sound and speed.
By reducing backpressure right at the turbo, a downpipe allows the turbocharger to spool up much faster. This reduces lag and improves throttle response, making the car feel eager and aggressive.

Performance downpipes maximize flow with simpler, wider piping designs. This eliminates the heavy, restrictive factory sections, reducing the overall weight of the exhaust system.
