This 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe has been thoughtfully modified with a strong selection of performance and cosmetic upgrades that build on the character of the original 1M.
Performance upgrades include KW Clubsport coilovers, a Remus cat-back exhaust, AR Design high-flow catalytic converters, an AFE cold-air intake, VRSF charge pipe, upgraded intercooler, and a custom tune through a COBB Accessport. Together, these upgrades sharpen the chassis, improve airflow and cooling, and give the twin-turbocharged inline-six a more aggressive sound and response.
The exterior has also been enhanced with a carbon fiber front lip, carbon fiber side skirts, carbon fiber rear spoiler, and carbon fiber rear diffuser, while the factory Style 359 wheels have been powder coated gloss black. A P3 vent gauge provides additional performance information from inside the cabin.
At its core, the 1M remains one of BMW M's most engaging combinations: a compact chassis, twin-turbocharged inline-six, 6-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and mechanical M differential. The upgrades on this example complement that formula rather than changing what makes the car special.
he BMW 1 Series M Coupe occupies a unique place in BMW M history. Developed as a compact, driver-focused M car and produced for a limited period, it combined the dimensions of the E82 1 Series with hardware and engineering developed specifically by BMW M.
Its 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline-six produced 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque from the factory, with an overboost function temporarily increasing torque to 369 lb-ft. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission.
With its widened bodywork, compact proportions, hydraulic steering, mechanical limited-slip differential and manual-only drivetrain, the 1M delivers a rawer and more analogue driving experience than many of the M cars that followed it. Finished in signature Valencia Orange Metallic and equipped with a well-selected group of performance and carbon fiber upgrades, this example offers the character that made the 1M special with an added level of sound, response and presence.
